COLT and the Pacific Crest Trail Association push for LWCF reauthorization on public radio

On Friday, August 21st, 2015, the Coalition of Oregon Land TrustsKelley Beamer and the Pacific Crest Trail Association’s Megan Wargo joined with Jefferson Public Radio host Geoffrey Riley on the Jefferson Exchange to talk about the the Land and Water Conservation Fund.

For 50 years, LWCF has provided billions of dollars in conservation funding throughout the country. In Oregon alone, LWCF has contributed nearly $300 million in funding for parks, open space, trails, facilities, and wild life habitat. However, unless Congress acts, LWCF is scheduled to sunset on September 30th.

Listen below as Kelley and Megan talk with Jefferson Public Radio about LWCF in Oregon and how important it will be to reauthorize it before we lose America’s most effective conservation program.
