January 30, 2017: Beaver Tales, #SuperbOwl, and more

COLT’s weekly land trust news

Monday January 30th, 2017

Good reflections today from Columbia Land Trust’s Facebook page:

“Of all the questions which can come before this nation, short of the actual preservation of its existence in a great war, there is none which compares in importance with the great central task of leaving this land even a better land for our descendants than it is for us, and training them into a better race to inhabit the land and pass it on. Conservation is a great moral issue for it involves the patriotic duty of insuring the safety and continuance of the nation.”

Hi everyone,

For those who weren’t able to make our webinar last week on NRCS’s RCPP in Oregon last week, here’s a link to the recording, another link to the PDF of presentations, and finally a PDF with information on applying. We had a good turnout, and are eager to see more successful RCPP projects in Oregon from land trusts. Pre-proposals are due April 21st.

We hope you have COLT’s next board meeting on your calendar already: Thursday March 2nd at Davis Wright Tremaine law firm here in Portland. We will be hosting a State of the Lands release party associated with the board meeting, and will send out more information next week.

Enjoy this week’s collection of news and more below.

All the best,

Mike Running
Communication and Outreach Manager
