North Coast Land Conservancy has a great new website. Take a look!

COLT’s weekly land trust news

November 17th, 2015

Tuesday greetings everyone,

COLT’s Communications Committee is actively seeking candidate stories for this year’s State of the Lands report. If you have a project you’d like to nominate, please let me know. At this point, we don’t need much detail, as the consultant we are working with will follow up for more information in the coming few weeks with the stories the committee chooses. We have a two-page Word document with a short informational form here if you’d like to read what we are looking for. Thanks for the help.

Tomorrow, November 18th, the House Committee on Natural Resources will hold a hearing on Rep. Bishop’s bill to reauthorize LWCF (unfortunately, no Oregon delegate sits on the committee). Many in the conservation world feel his bill would gut what otherwise is very effective program. For some critical looks at Rep. Bishop’s bill, see this article from the Center for Western Priorities or this one from Outdoor Life. We’ll keep you posted on how this transpires.

Finally, I’d like to make sure we have everyone’s most current logos on our website. Please take a moment look here and let me know if you have a more recent version we should upload. Thank you.

Wishing everyone a good week.

      –Mike
