Understanding and Dismantling Racism: Two-Part Series

With Dara Snyder

This interactive two-part training will be an opportunity for participants to establish a shared foundation for key terms and concepts related to understanding and dismantling racism. This session will begin with grounding our understanding in historical events related to racism, both in Oregon and nationally. We will then further establish a framework for understanding racism, including building a theoretical and practical understanding of the different expressions of racism and their relationship to each other: internalized; interpersonal; cultural; institutional; systemic.

This training will help normalize discussions about race and racism in the workplace and better equip participants to identify and address racism when it happens. By the end of this session, participants will have a shared language and framework that can help pave the way for the ongoing, daily practice of dismantling racism in its many manifestations.
