HB2020 update: Cap and Invest Program to address climate change in Oregon

We’re now in the final push of the 2019 Oregon Legislative Session. Here’s a quick status on our HB 2020 legislative priorities and how you can help! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

COLT supports the current version of the bill that includes a dedicated allocation of program revenue for investments in natural and working landscapes. However, our community needs to keep pushing for this version of the bill to pass!

The bill has a public hearing and work session tomorrow, Wednesday, June 5th at 5 pm in the Ways & Means Subcommittee on Natural Resources. If possible, please submit supportive testimony to the Subcommittee by 5 pm TODAY by emailing your testimony to this address: jwmnr.exhibits@oregonlegislature.gov.

What you can do:

Reach out to your legislator to encourage them to pass the bill and note that:

1. The amendments to the bill have produced thoughtful and robust legislation that’s ready to pass; and

2. Any remaining questions about the program can be clarified in the rulemaking process.

Thank you!!

Here’s where you can see our latest update on OAHP (HB 2729) and the Conservation and Recreation Fund (HB 2829).
