Save the Date—April 13 Conservation Law Forum

Don’t miss COLT’s upcoming virtual law forum!

April 13, 2023 | 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Via Zoom

Join the Coalition of Oregon Land Trusts and a community of conservation and legal professionals for our upcoming virtual Conservation Law Forum.

Experts will cover a variety of legal topics important to land conservation in Oregon, including:

  • Conservation Easements 101. Led by multiple practitioners in the land trust community, we will cover the critical components and sections of a conservation easement—a voluntary legal agreement that permanently limits certain uses of land in order to protect conservation values.
  • Emerging Topics in Conservation Easements. Explore emerging topics to consider when drafting conservation easements, including legal considerations for carbon offset projects, how to use cultural easements to provide Tribal access on conserved lands, and how to integrate safe harbor updates to conservation easements to align with the 2022 Charitable Conservation Easement Integrity Act.

This forum is suited for professionals new to easement drafting and those considering updates to their easement templates. View full agenda.

COLT will apply for 3 MCLE credits. The cost to attend the Conservation Law Forum is:

  • $100 with MCLE credits
  • $50 for the forum without MCLE credits
  • Free for students who are enrolled in law school and register with an active student email address.

Hope to see you there!
