What’s Your “Oregon I Am?”

Share Your Oregon Story

Oregon is pretty amazing, and so are the people who call it home! From the rocky shores of the coast to the magic of the high desert, we know that every person has a unique story to tell and a special connection to this place.

In celebration of The Oregon I Am, we are gathering stories from across the state that celebrate the depth and range of experiences of Oregonians – as varied and beautiful as the landscape. This collection of stories will become a short film that will launch at an event in Portland on December 10 – and you’re invited to be a part of it!

Our stories matter. They shape who we are, the way we view the world, and the way we understand each other and nature. Place is more than just a backdrop, it’s an active participant in the story: a feeling, an experience, an amalgamation of the people and wildlife, and a living monument of those who came before us. The places close to our hearts are a big part of our stories – Oregon included!

Submit Your Oregon Story Online!

We invite you to share your Oregon I Am story with us by recording a 10-30 second video answering the question “What is your Oregon?” You might just be featured in our short film set to premiere this December!

Your Oregon story could be about a place, people, dreams, experiences, and more. You choose! Is your Oregon a memory or a moment (Driving with the windows down on a hot day)? Is it a taste or a smell (Magnolias blooming in the springtime)? Is it an ideal or an idea (A place where everyone can thrive)? Is it a feeling or an experience (Berry picking in the shadow of a mountain)?

In your recording, please include:

  • Who you are and where you’re filming from.
  • Share the statement “The Oregon I Am is …” and finish the sentence with your story!

You might just make it into our film!
