Standing up for our communities

The Nature Conservancy. by- Rick McEwan

From all sectors, this is a time to speak up.

Staying silent in times of injustice is a privilege. We stand in support of racial equality, and all those who search for it.

We, at COLT, are devastated by the killing of George Floyd, and overt racism against Christian Cooper—and countless other murders and injustices. The core of our work is not just about protecting nature but also the people who use the outdoors. When any aspect of our communities feels unsafe, we need to speak up and do something about it. We stand for human rights and the safety of everyday acts, like venturing outside—for everyone.

We cannot be silent and we must take a stand against racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, injustice and inequality. We will be listening to our communities and working with our membership to plan our actions and next steps and we will share them with you, soon.
